Weinberg Village Waimanalo is a clean and sober service-enriched transitional housing program for homeless families with minor-aged children. Our Mission is to create a safe, supportive, nurturing environment where the children can grow and flourish while the parents focus on building skills that will lead to self-sufficiency and permanent housing.
The Goal of the program is assist the families in moving forward to a better life. We do this by identifying barriers and skills needed to become financially independent and secure and by helping them to find ways to remove those roadblocks through intensive personalized case management.
Weinberg Village Waimanalo opened in November 1994 as a transitional housing shelter for homeless families. On average, we provide service to approximately 50-54 families (225 to 245 individuals) each year. Of those individuals, we always average around 65% children from newborns to 16 year olds.
